Product details

The MC111CS is a media converter designed to convert 100BASE-FX fiber optic to 10/100Base-TX copper media or vice versa. By using WDM technology, the MC111CS requires only one fiber optic cable to transmit and receive data, reducing cable costs. It is compliant with IEEE 802.3u standards for 100Base-TX and 100Base-FX and is compatible with single-core fiber optic cables that use the SC-type connector. It supports long-wavelength (LX) laser specifications with full wire-speed forwarding, operates at 1550 nm for data transmission and 1310 nm for data reception. Therefore, the cooperating device should operate at 1310 nm for data transmission and 1550 nm for data reception. The TP-LINK MC112CS is an example of a compatible media converter. It features Auto MDI/MDI-X for the TX port, automatic negotiation of duplex mode at the TX port, and status LEDs on the front. The MC111CS can transmit over extended fiber optic distances with single-core fiber up to 20 kilometers.
