The Rycote OM-08 is an omnidirectional stick condenser microphone designed for a variety of studio and field recording applications. The OM-08 microphones deliver a solid low-frequency response with virtually no drop-off at 20 Hz. The microphones are based on Rycote's low self-noise preamp design and capsules, providing a consistent sound signature that pairs well with other Rycote microphones in the series. The OM-08 microphones can be used individually or in matched stereo pairs. Since the OM-08 (omnidirectional) features the same core preamp electronics, it benefits from the natural omnidirectional characteristic of the capsule across its entire range, with no feedback reaching the diaphragm. Despite the standard 20 Hz frequency response measurement, the OM-08 even captures down to an octave lower than 10 Hz. Like the entire series, it has a slight boost at 5 kHz, which emphasizes vocal sibilance and ensures a naturally clear recording.
