Product details
As a straightforward cardioid condenser microphone, the NT1000 is suitable for a wide range of sound sources in the studio, such as vocals of all kinds, acoustic guitars, brass instruments, and strings. With its sensationally low inherent noise, it is also ideal for extremely quiet signals. The NT1000 has quickly found followers who prefer to use it as an overhead microphone or to record a concert grand piano. The satin nickel-plated metal housing not only looks elegant but also effectively protects the high-quality SMD electronics from high-frequency interference. The speaking basket is made of heat-treated steel to protect the sensitive 1" capsule in the best possible way.
Like all studio microphones, the NT1000 is produced at RØDE's high-tech factory near Sydney, Australia. With the exception of the electronic components, all other components are manufactured there. RØDE does not leave anything to chance: the production of the housings, capsules, and SMD boards is mainly done with high-precision, computer-controlled machines, resulting in impressive consistency of quality with the lowest tolerances.
Now, let's discuss the frequency response, which is by no means flat. As is typical of RØDE, the NT1000 transmits the sound source with a subtle but always musical presence boost. This perfectly compensates for the typical high-frequency losses in the open field when miking from a distance, and when miking close up, soloists achieve an incomparable shine without ever sounding shrill.
Included in the delivery are the plain RM2 microphone holder and a leatherette transport case. The NT1000 is available in a bundle with the highly effective elastic mount SM2 for an additional cost, which is what most people choose, as it offers a savings compared to purchasing the SM2 separately.
