The bridge between analogue HiFi to digital devices and computers
Inconspicuous but mighty. Maximum flexibility in operation thanks to remote control and MusicCast app. Great addition to the high-end music system. Good selection of inputs and outputs.

Super device with small drawbacks
Once connected to the network via Ethernet, the thing runs absolutely smoothly and without interruptions. To all those who complain about interruptions in streaming: check whether your Internet connection is good enough, especially in the WLAN!
There are shortcomings for me in the area of the app. I would like to see multiple scenes/settings per room. And that other services are included in the streaming, for example, Youtube Music. Then you would not have to stream so much via Bluetooth, because there you notice real differences in sound quality.Pro

Good sound and easy to use with the Yamaha application
Beautiful designs and neat construction. The settings are quite simple with the Musicast application which is also quite complete. It's not perfect yet, but it's easy enough to use. I use Tidal which is directly recognized by Musicast, in addition to all the other compatible applications and internet radio stations. The sound is really good, it allowed me to revive an old vintage hi-fi system. The connectivity is also very complete. It keeps in memory the last stream used, no need to restart the application to have sound output.

simple but quite good
The device should be connected directly to the router and the signal should be delivered undistorted, i.e. 1:1 to the amplifier. With the automatic resp. manual 'sound optimizations' (equalizer) I have not become happy. But in direct connection and with a good amplifier / good speakers, the device provides a very clean, not clinically cold but slightly warm sound with decent pressure in the bass range. I like it very much!
That the source display is only via differently colored LED is not really disturbing, since the operation is done exclusively via tab / phone.
Overall, very good device with slight drawbacks in the app (see disadvantages). Actually 4.5 stars.

Top possibility to digitize existing analog HiFi.

Bought the preamp to drive active speakers. Comfort and workmanship are very good. Sonically, the preamp falls short of expectations.

Alternative to Sonos with asterisk
I wasn't thrilled with Sonos, so I came to Yamaha.... Unfortunately, I don't currently have the other Musiccast products. Therefore, a final statement is still open. But to be able to bring my old music system into the year 2021, I expanded my options this way. Now I am with the mobile phone on my favourite songs and at the same time on the good speakers, well, only in one room. The operation of the app is, like everything, very simple after some trial and error. Increasing the volume only works with a delay, or you turn it off in the settings, but not bad to be able to prevent the unwanted earthquakes. Turning down the volume works promptly. I am thrilled!

I use the WXC-50 as a preamplifier for my NAD power amplifier. The sound is great, but typical for Yamaha, very bass-heavy.

The device is very good, but I'm very disappointed with a not stable price on digitec. I paid for it 422chf, when in other days it costed 350chf

Good makeover solution for old wi-fi systems
It resuscitate a old wifi. If you use spotify like me than it is a good addition. Sound quality as expected with good amplifier. App is not so easy and you still need to add wi-fi speakers to get the full potential.
