Ubiquiti UniFi AP AC-PRO
1300 Mbit/s
I switched from the "little brother" to this one and thanks to the controller software only the AP had to be adopted, Config then took over automatically as I only own one.
The devices then connected again immediately and the speed increased noticeably.
Through a wall was previously 4-8 MByte/s possible, now it is about 20 MByte.
Big plus: the whistling disappeared with me, which was to be heard before with transmissions.

Works great with all the devices I tested with it. By default, the channel width on the 5Ghz band is set to 40Mhz - so I didn't get more than 250MBit throughput with 802.11ac devices. After switching to 80Mhz, it was pretty much 500MBit maximum. That's good, but not outstanding. Other access points deliver more here. The AP-AC-PRO gets power via a Netgear GS110TP - standard PoE ("Power over Ethernet") and not PoE+ or something. The consumption is a few watts in idle mode. With a good connection, an additional 1 watt is consumed per 100 MBit throughput. The range with 40Mhz in the 5Ghz band is good; with 80Mhz it is only moderate. However, there are also a lot of access points in my environment and thus a lot of interference.
Addendum: With newer firmware, throughput and range have improved somewhat.
Addendum 2: After a few years about one in ten dies of PoE failure.

I have tried a few things in our 4-story house.
Due to the floor heating and thick walls, normal range extenders are a disaster and even the Nighthawk from Netgear, which is strong, has "alone" not enough for the whole house.
I then tried Apple's Airports and Netgear's ORBI.
ORBI top, but since only MESH and still no other satellites, I then came to UNIFI AC-AP Pro.... AND HAAAPPYYY...
4 AP's:
AP 1 is via LAN at the Swisscom modem
AP 2 is via LAN at AP 1
AP 3 is via WLAN at AP 2
AP 4 is via WLAN at AP 1
and so we have WLAN in the whole house incl. garden and especially in the air-raid shelter and the underground garage. Is great, I can screw on the motorcycle and watch via WLAN youtube etc.... Otherwise there is "no net" down there...
Conclusion: It is ingenious. Although cumbersome to install, only in English and the APP is only usable when the controller runs in the PC / Mac... but apart from that, the performance/speed is just great.
Advantage over other AP or pure MESH systems is that you can connect the AP's together via LAN or WLAN... simply super.
Have fun :-)

Was purchased 2 years ago for the purpose of improving WLAN reception in the apartment. The range is brilliant, even in front of the entrance to the underground garage I still had reception with the cell phone.
The integration of an existing network (even without other UniFi hardware such as Secure Gateway, etc.) works smoothly, the configuration is quick and easy thanks to GUI.
In the meantime, I have already installed 3 more AP's at colleagues and relatives who were annoyed by poor WLAN reception.
I would buy again and again!
Caution: Ubiquiti products can be addictive. If you start with one product, you will get into a buying frenzy and will be pulled further and further into the Unifi universe ;-)

Serves as a replacement for a Sagem router (WLAN) from Sunrise.
No more interruptions, better range and coverage.
The configuration is just a bit different than conventional APs, but somehow it works. Nobody likes to install Java on his PC, but maybe I could also get the cloud key (they just do that only because you can only bypass this drecks Java :) )
Once you have it configured, it really is a top WLAN and the PoE has helped me with the placement extremely, because you only have a cable to the AP hinfüren. Also, I used a ribbon cable (watch out for 8 wires for the power in the cable!) which allowed for trackless cable routing. Super thing!
On the picture: The extremely professional installation in the cleaning cabinet.
I do not know if I bought a rotten egg, seems to me anyway so when I read the other comments. I have the thing now half a year and I am very disappointed although I was actually until now fan of these Ubiquiti's. I find the range to be poor. Over the 5GHz the signal to the nearest room (about 6 meters - door open) is very weak, although hardly interference sources according to measurements. Therefore, I wanted to position the part in a, in my opinion, more optimal place. When I touched the part I was shocked. A measurement showed 55 degrees Celsius at the hottest point. I let the part cool down for a while. Afterwards it ran again Top. After approx. 8h the same game from the beginning... According to the Ubiquiti forum this is a known problem with the heat.

The throughput at my predecessor, a FritzBox is not better - but when the distance to the AP decreases this AP is clearly superior.

You notice that the Pro AP has a total of 9 antennas - best reception even in far-flung corners of the apartment. Top! Integrated into the existing network in seconds via the controller. Roaming works great, even without Zero Handoff - I can roam while streaming a video from the NAS, and the movie doesn't stall. I also think PoE is a cool thing, makes the cabling to the AP much more streamlined and less visible. I continue to be excited about the Unifi family.

1300Mbit/s, 450Mbit/s? I have the device connected to a switch that delivers a constant 970Mbit/s, but with 802.11ac I only get 240Mbit/s when I measure directly in front of the device.
To start the user interface, you also have to start a Java application locally, which then initialises for a minute to open a browser. Login/password are not saved. I requested a mail to reset the password. The mail is still not there after 15 minutes.
Conclusion: Quite a disappointment.
Super quality

ATTENTION: Once again, Digitec sells a product in Switzerland with a German Schuko plug and claims in the description that "a suitable adapter" is included, which is simply a lie! If you rely on this and buy the device on Saturday 15 minutes before closing time, you can either go shopping again on Monday, or abuse the charging cable of the notebook, which has the matching cloverleaf plug....
But that's almost it with the negative points!
I have two of these things: one in the basement and one on the 1st floor. So insg. 4 floors and the entire neighborhood (small control walk with the mobile ^^) are well covered with WLan.
One star deduction for the somewhat bitchy software. Since my home server runs he 7/24 and you need the management software to run several of the APs with seamless handover, I installed it on the server. So far, so simple. But in order for everything to work the way you want it to, you have to install the software as a service, which doesn't happen automatically, you have to do it by hand. There are instructions, but simple is different. And then the APs were simply not integrated into the software. The firmware on the APs was simply too old. So how do you update the firmware if you can't get access to the APs because the management software is acting up? You can do it via SSH. There is a manual for it. Simple is different.
Ok, in the end everything works and now I'm happy. Seamless handover works perfectly. Each device is assigned the AP that has the best signal and is not overloaded at the same time. The software offers some very nice features with nice graphics, etc.. I like it.

Not for amateurs - needs an entire system from Ubiquity.
The device is a total rip-off for a layman who doesn't know much about routers, modems, etc.
The goal was to set up a flawless one in the entire household.
With the Unifi AC Pro, however, this is not yet settled, because in addition to the access point, you also need a Unifi Cloud System for 100.- and a Unifi Switsch for another 200.-.
So almost 500.- are needed for perfect WLAN - ABSOLUTE DISCOUNT!!!
I'd rather buy 4 extenders and get the same result.
In addition, the entire manual is in English and if you as a layman don't even understand the technical terms in German, you can just pack up.
The device is certainly recommendable for absolute computer freaks who know every connection in the household inside out, but absolutely unusable for a layman.

I have 2 in operation. Setup and operation were problem-free. No more range problems in the house.
Good wifi coverage, each antenna can have up to 4 SSIDs.
Very good throughput.

Runs for a few hundred days without interruption ;)

Excellent AP and very easy to set up. The only complaint is the lack of a CH cable for the POE adapter.
impresses with its simple setup, especially if you have more than one hotspot. The power supply via PoE is also ingenious, you only need one cable to the hotspot. I use a mesh setup to extend the range even further with a second hotspot (AP-AC-Mesh) ... works without any problems.

Works perfectly.
I was finally able to connect my old iPad to the 5GHz WLAN, which I never managed with all the old WLAN routers and also the one from my provider. You don't have to register with UBNT if you don't want to, downloading the Unifi SDN Controller software is enough. The device itself has no built-in website.
