TechniSat Digit Isio Stc
2x DVB-C/T/T2/S2, CI+ slot
When I unpacked the TechniSat DIGIT ISIO STC (UHD/4K), I was a little disappointed. 399,-- Fr. for such a small unimpressive device? Then I installed and tested the device and was surprised at what it had to offer. I have already bought and installed well over thirty satellite receivers for myself and my friends. I have always read the reports and tests in the relevant media and bought according to these judgements. Among them were devices that cost more than three times the price of the TechniSat DIGIT ISIO STC (UHD/4K). The TechniSat DIGIT ISIO STC (UHD/4K) puts them all in its pocket. It has everything you would expect from a top device, and it is also very easy to operate.
- Record and play back the recordings without any problems, even with a computer.
- Transfer films or photos from the computer to a stick and watch them on the TV via the receiver.
- You can access the WLAN just as easily as with a mobile phone or a PC and everything is shown on the TV just as on a PC.
- And, and, and.
The set has great satellite reception and the remote control can reach the set even in difficult conditions.
Searching for channels is very easy. You select the satellite(s) and the unit then shows all the channels found in a list in alphabetical order. From this list, you can then transfer the desired channels to a second list and then sort this list.
Special features:
The unit can be set to switch off automatically after a set time if no function keys on the remote control are pressed. The unit is set to 3 hours. You must change this during installation.
The unit can be protected with a password. This function is hidden in the child lock. There you can change the password from 0000 to your password.

This device convinces all along the line. Top picture quality, flawless WLAN and LAN functions, simple commissioning and intuitive operation. HD+ card from version 03 (version 02 does not work). I switched from Dreambox 7020 HD to TechniSat DIGIT ISIO STC and have no regrets. The only thing I have to do without is the programme list editing function on the computer, and the switching times for encoded channels could be a little faster. In view of the many strengths, this can be easily overcome.
All those who value a reliable, functional, comfortable and future-proof box, and who do not want to configure it endlessly, as is the case with Dreambox, will love the TechniSat DIGIT ISIO STC Gold. It doesn't get any better than this, an absolute buy recommendation.

I cannot support the praise of my pre-testers in any way.
The device is a frustration and can in no way even come close to fulfilling my expectations. It is absolutely not network-compatible and also has no web GUI as one is used to from other Linux-based boxes. Even the old Technistar K1 could at least be programmed from a PC. Even if you ping the correct device address, there is no response. However, it can access the internet and the NAS. But it can't play 4K UHD video files from the NAS; video UHD AVC/H.264 is not supported! What is this all about ? I thought I had bought a 4K UHD device. These files are even played directly by my TV! The box can only play normal HD files via the network. To get video files from the box to the PC you have to unplug the USB disc and plug it into the PC. The prerequisite is that you format the USB disc with NTSF, otherwise the PC will not be able to use the disc. Alternatively, there is the PC programme Media Port from Technisat, version 1.3.9; old coffee from the year 2010, which does not work because the receiver is not recognised or flies out immediately when you click on the files! Only with FAT32 does it work to some extent. What good are apps for tablet and handset? I am not a tablet swinger; I want to control the box from the PC in the home network, without email and password and other gugus ! All wrong! The NAS is not accepted as a recording medium via the network; there is no folder with the appropriate file system. Therefore, only one star for this completely unusable device.
I will have to buy a Dreambox again.

Perfect service and perfect device
Bought as a replacement for the Horizon box from UPC.
For me, worlds better - faster, nicer, more practical and easier to use.
