The Sony Alpha 7C has exceeded my expectations in every respect. Its compact body fits perfectly in my pocket and is ideal for travelling. The autofocus is incredibly precise and the image stabilisation ensures sharp images, even in low light conditions. The battery life is also impressive. A success all round!

First of all: I didn't buy it here, but at my photo dealer, because I wanted to see the viewfinder live first (by the way, it's not more expensive than here, on the contrary). The A7C feels a bit worse in the hand than the comparably sized Alpha 6600 because of the smaller handgrip, and there are some negatives that should not go unmentioned. But... you buy this camera because of its unsurpassed compactness. There is no smaller full-frame system camera with a flip-swivel display and stabilized sensor. The even smaller Sigma FP has neither.
By the way, the 28-60mm kit lens is amazingly good and sharp. Kit lenses have a dubious reputation. With this one, you really can't complain at all.
Animal eye AF even with the advanced Flexible Spot and real-time tracking. A pleasant surprise. Most other Sonys can't do that.
Also, the sensitivity of the tracking is adjustable. This is not the case with the Sony APS-C cameras, for example.
Unfortunately, the viewfinder does not have a rubber eyecup. Therefore, there is too much stray light in sunshine and you can hardly see anything in the viewfinder. Fail.
My lens suggestions besides the FE 28-60 Kitzoom, which you should definitely buy:
FE 20 f1.8 G
FE 35 f1.8
FE 55 f1.8 ZA
FE 85 f1.8
Of course, the FE 35 f2.8 ZA, which has finally dropped in price, also fits the bill. For me, the f2.8 was too little. Since I prefer to take the FE 35 f1.8 which is rather cheaper.
If you want a telephoto zoom, the Sony FE 70-300 G fits very well. Or at best the new, much lighter Tamron 70-300 for E-mount.
Conclusion: If you're looking for a super-compact system camera with a full-frame sensor, you can't go past the A7C. It also fits compact lenses, but of course all E-mount lenses can be used.

My first conclusion after one week is quite positive. The camera including kit lens make a great figure. It is accurate in focus, fast and makes already without processing (JPEGs) very good photos (sharp, high-contrast, beautiful skin tones ...).
I already work with the a6500 and the Sony A7RII and actually wanted a successor to the a6500. Either the a6600 or the A7c. Thought about it for a long time and didn't regret the decision in favor of the A7c.
The nagging regarding viewfinder and the operating concept (menu navigation) I can not understand. I am a photographer and wearer of glasses and find the viewfinder absolutely okay. Surely there are better ones, but it is absolutely not unusable, as some people keep saying. Regarding menu navigation is also much too much grumbled. With "MyMenu" and the FN button, the camera can be perfectly adjusted to your needs. A camera has to help you take good pictures and is not a "gameboy" to constantly zap back and forth in the menus. I only need a few parameters for photo and video. Configured accordingly, this camera is extremely fun to use!
