I am very happy with the I5-8600K. Above all, it doesn't make a big difference between the I5 and I7 for gamers...to be exact, the difference is about 3-5 FPS. For the extra price, I will definitely not buy the I7. Since my goal is mainly gaming, I put the money into a decent graphics card and bought the Asus STRIX 1080TI. But back to the processor, price/performance is really good, especially Digtiec offers really good prices for the poor availability. The card is nice and fast and its gaming performance is even better than its predecessor Kaby Lake. I can only recommend this part!

Very good. Performance is right.
Can be cooled to moderate temperatures.
Interesting for those who want to head (delidding) anyway.

I switched from a Ryzen 5 1600 running at 3.85GHz to the i5-8600k. Why? Because gaming!
I'm running mine at 1.28V at 4.8GHz and am absolutely thrilled! In Cinebench I score just 100 points less than the Ryzen even though it can process 12 threads!
All my games run in the FPS limit and with a 240Hz monitor such a processor is almost a must!
Unfortunately we are bound to Z370 because the pins of the sockets are arranged differently.
And yes, typical Intel, PLEASE SOLDER THE CPUs! Unheaded, these processors have to be run with big coolers! I run mine with a Corsair H150i PRO RGB.

Happy owner of this i5 (thanks Digitec). It replaces my faithful i5 2500k @ 6 years old at 4.8Ghz still working...
I'm at 55°c max via Core Temp on PUBG with a Zalman cnps10x and Silverstone Raven02 case.
Not bench tested yet.
Not overclocked for the moment, I don't feel the need for it actually.
