Until now I could only print CAD drawings and KiCAD diagrams up to A3.
This has now come to an end with the T230.... and the fact that it is also cut off after printing on a roll is perfect...
Oh yes...under macOS 15.x the printer is automatically recognised and installed.

In order to be able to print out large plans for our new building project ourselves, we decided to purchase the HP DesignJet T230 24. We decided on this device because the price/performance ratio was right for us as private users. The set-up worked very well with two people and the installation with WLAN connection was also done quickly. The connection via WLAN is very convenient and allows a free choice of location. With the HP app, prints can also be started quickly from a smartphone. We were surprised at how quickly and quietly the plotter produced large colour prints. The design is attractive and modern, and the size is compact, which means the printer takes up very little space. We are very happy with our new printer/plotter and can recommend it 100%.

The HP Designjet T230 is absolutely top class and very compact (dimensions: 1,013 x 440 x 285 mm / weight: 21.5 kg) which was very important because you don't have that much space to put giant devices. The 24" printer prints effortlessly/quickly as well as quietly up to A1 with a resolution of up to 2400 x 1200 dpi (optimised). It supports remote printing (a remote printer is a printer on a network that is connected to a local workstation and can be used like a network printer via the appropriate software). It can be operated intuitively via the HP Smart App on the mobile device as well as via the appropriate software for the PC. The Designjet T230 works with 4 ink tanks that are equipped with HP chips that report the fill level to the software and this to the user. Original cartridge prices are really reasonable which was also a purchase criterion. Colour 30ml/40€ per tank and black 40ml/50€ on average. I have worked with it both with the mobile phone and with the computer under Linux as well as under Android, the device runs super great. A suitable printout is quickly created. The small but nice touch display on the printer reacts very well and the set-up even works effortlessly. The printer connects easily via Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T), Hi-Speed USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n or optional Wi-Fi Direct. The printer works with normal A4 paper or continuous roll. It cuts the printout from the roll at the end of the printout. What is not so nice is that all accessories have to be purchased at a high price, because the A4 feeder with sheet holder as well as the continuous roll cover, which are really recommended, are unfortunately not included.

First of all the printer is delivered safely packed on a pallet, two people can unpack the printer without any problems and set it up in a suitable place.
The installation of the printer is very easy, even non-technical users should have no problems here.
The printer can be controlled via USB, LAN or WLAN. We use it exclusively via WLAN, which works perfectly. A USB cable is not included in the scope of delivery.
Loading the paper roll is very easy. You can also load single A3 and A4 sheets, but this is quite difficult without the separately available sheet feeder.
No paper roll is included in the delivery, but this is more a luxury problem than a defect.
The sheet feeder and the dust cover are also not included and have to be purchased separately. I would have liked at least the single-sheet feeder to be included in the delivery.
The quality of the prints is very good and the consumption is moderate depending on the settings. We print our floor plans and advertising posters (A1) in 'fast' quality, which is perfectly adequate for our requirements.
A small tip on the side: we used the Windows printer drivers on a laptop and not the original HP drivers, which caused quality problems (stripes etc.) when printing.
I can't understand the negative reviews, we had no problems with any of our prints (5 employees printing from various devices). These are probably due to earlier app and driver versions, so I can only advise everyone to use the latest drivers and the latest firmware for the printer.

The ideal large format printer up to A01 for small businesses and beginners. I already have a previous model and am very satisfied with it. Runs without any problems!

Because the (individual) ink cartridges are located directly on the print head, there is no need for long distances via a hose: the risk of drying up is much lower and a "rinse cycle" only requires a small amount of ink.
When changing paper, the printer is a bit picky: if the cutting edge is not absolutely straight, it simply does not "eat" the paper...

If you want this printer to troubleshoot, it's fine.
But, as soon as you need to ramp up the production of shots, it's too slow.

First impression very good.
The T230 has replaced our DesignJet 510. Print speed is absolutely top.

It does what the plotter has to do. The paper selection is a bit awkward, as the roll has to be rethreaded each time.

My first order was suddenly untraceable, after asking twice by phone I had a very nice and helpful advisor on the phone. She advised me on the phone and found an equivalent product at a lower price. Two days later the plotter was delivered. Merci Mrs Cerra
