Hello Acid1981 I have the same phenomenon. If you switch off Bluetooth, this should no longer happen, otherwise Bluetooth consumes power even when switched off. See also https://www.reddit.com/r/sonyactioncam/comments/5i8bhx/comment/dbzuwr9 Good luck and have fun with the cam!

The 12 MP are meant for the photo mode of this camera. But only if the "WIDE" angle mode is enabled. In video mode you only have around 8.2 MP. You can check it out here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/actioncam/fdr-x3000-body-kit/specifications You'll find the relevant info in the row: "Still Image Size (Photo Mode)"

The data can be transferred easily via WiFi (camera connected directly to iPad/iPhone, control via Sony app) or from the SD card. For transfer via SD card, you need the Lightning to SD card reader (Apple, approx. 35.-) and an SD adapter for MicroSD (was included with my Samsung card). Have fun.

The remote is waterproof - perfect for playing around the surface - but it wont work underwater because WIFI doesn't transmit under water. You cannot run it from USB - the cradle is just for charging and no function works when connected. It is worth mention that remote keeps charge much longer than camera though. Another point to mention is that camera do work while on USB but then it doesn't charge. For charging to occur it needs to be switched off.
