The camera is terrible. I work a lot in VR 360, and I can say that the Ricoh Theta S, which is 2 years old, takes much better photos! The Samsung Gear (previous model) is also much better than the new model. What a pity! I will definitely switch to the new Ricoh in the summer.
Hello, so I can only answer briefly for the Apple Store...I see the app "Samsung Gear 360" still in the Apple Store --> https://apps.apple.com/de/app/samsung-gear-360/id1214791825 (I still installed the app and quickly tested it and it still runs great) and also in the Google Play Store I see a "Gear 360 File Access & Stitcher" --> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aktuna.gear.gear360fileaccess&gl=CH . However, support for the app has been discontinued since August 2020 and is officially only supported up to iOS 13.0. I am currently still on iOS 14.8 and it may well be that the app no longer works with iOS 15 :-(.
I would not recommend this product. I bought it in 2018, it worked fine for a while but suddenly the camera won't turn on. No way to get it to work again despite a lot of research on the subject. Many are in the same situation. Unless an update has been made, move on.
No. The camera does not have an overhead function.
Yes, there is a simple little remote control to trigger it. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/MEoAAOSwJ71acpJq/s-l300.jpg
Unfortunately, no. The camera gets warm and turns off after a while. As far as I know, it is not possible to record videos with the USB-C cable plugged in (I would have to verify). To watch your cats, I would rather use a D-Link DCS-5222L or similar.
