I am 99% certain I have charged one in the canon charger that came with the camera. However I normally use the Patona yellow and black charger since it takes just about any power source AC/DC/USB-C and the Patona charger has a digital display rather than blinking LEDs

No worries. It goes on 70D, 90D and again EOS 6D MK II. I have them all. It easily replaces the original ones, much too expensive, all coming from the same Chinese supplier. By the way, I'm selling the 70D, with motor drive, lens. Very little used. Excellent as a second camera. Contact giannus@hotmail.com

if the r6 has the same battery as the r it should work

The only difference I see is the capacity. Unfortunately, I cannot judge whether there are other differences. It is best to ask the manufacturer directly.
