I would suggest to return the RAM and re-order it, but if you do return the RAM, make sure that you get the money back you paid for it, if this is done in the shop, you could return it and reorder it at the same time. They run super and stable. With the MHz clock, you have to check the BIOS beforehand to see how far the clock goes. I can also overclock my system, but I never do. Highly recommended and great RGB. Greetings 😀

"need" - one could philosophise about this for a long time now (not only in relation to PC components). My desktop PCs (also for gaming) all have 32 GB RAM (without RGB), even my business notebook has 32 GB (definitely not for gaming). If someone enjoys RGB, let them have fun with it. :-) If you like it, you buy it. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
