The Gigaset Comfort 500 A Trio (CH version) can be connected and operated directly to the analogue telephone connection of the Swisscom Internet Box 2, 3 or 4. It is an analogue landline telephone that is not connected to the Swisscom Box via DECT, but via the classic telephone connection (RJ11). This means that it can be used directly on the analogue connection of the Swisscom Box, but without the extended DECT functions of the Box. The basic telephone functions are guaranteed.

Hi We had exactly the same symptoms. Changing the batteries didn't help. All 3 devices showed the same behaviour 2 weeks apart. The new 500A also has 2 AAA batteries. If the set lasts another 6 years, then I personally don't mind "this fault". I have been extremely satisfied with the Gigasets for almost 25 years. Greetings

The Gigaset Comfort 500 A Duo (CH version) is basically compatible with the Swisscom Internet Box 4, as it is an analogue landline telephone that can be operated on the analogue connection of the Internet Box. However, it does not work via DECT, but via the analogue connection, which is why not all the advantages of digital DECT technology can be used. The basic telephone functions should work correctly, but advanced DECT functions of the Internet Box are not available.

A cable with RJ11 plugs is supplied with the base station. If your router has separate telephone outlets, these are equipped with RJ11 sockets. You can then connect the base station and the telephone output with the RJ11 cable. The cable supplied will also fit into the RJ45 socket on the router, but you will probably not have a telephone signal at the RJ45 sockets on the router.

1. the Gigaset Comfort 500 A Duo (CH version) does not have a separate LED to indicate missed calls without having to search for them in the menu. Missed calls are shown on the display, there is no flashing LED to indicate this. 2. the handset volume can be adjusted on the Gigaset Comfort 500 A Duo. The phone offers the option of adjusting the volume individually to customise listening comfort.

According to our information, the scope of delivery includes three handsets incl. charging cradle. The base station is only used to connect to the fixed network. One charging cradle is therefore included in the price for all three devices.

The term «CH-Version» refers to a product version specifically adapted and certified for the Swiss market. This includes compliance with local standards and regulations, as well as linguistic and technical adaptations to meet Swiss requirements. For example, the user interface and language settings are typically set to Swiss German, and the device may include additional features optimized for the Swiss market, such as integration with local emergency numbers.

The Gigaset Comfort 500 A Duo offers a speakerphone and a 3.5 mm jack connection for headphones, but no integrated wireless headphone connection. However, you could use a wireless headset adapter that is compatible with the 3.5 mm connection.

Each individual telephone does not require its own power supply unit. The Gigaset Comfort 500 A Trio comes with three handsets, a base station and a charger for each handset. The base station requires a power supply unit and the handsets are charged via the chargers.

The Gigaset Comfort 500 HX is a DECT handset that can be connected directly to a DECT-enabled Internet router. It appears that you are trying to connect it to a Sunrise Connect Box 3, which is normally not possible directly as the Connect Box 3 does not have a DECT module. The error could be due to the fact that the Connect Box 3 is not designed to connect directly to DECT handsets. You may need a DECT module or a DECT base station to use the handset. If you need further help, I recommend consulting our Community or contacting customer service.

To register an additional handset, you need to act on two devices: the base station and the handset itself. 1. Base station: Press the registration button on the base station. This button is usually represented by a ball with three lines. The base station will emit a signal for one minute. 2. Handset: In the handset menu, select "Handset registration" and enter your PIN code (the default is 0000). You will need to complete these steps within one minute of activating the registration signal on the base station.

Sorry! I've just seen that it's an "old" Gigaset. It should still work, but I'm not entirely sure. Register a new handset on the old base station. Then send the numbers from the old handset to it. Put the new devices into operation, register them all on the new base station and then send the numbers again. Sounds terribly complicated, but I can't explain it any better, or don't have a better solution :-(

You can connect the Gigaset Comfort 500HX Duo handset directly to the Swisscom Box as long as it supports the DECT function. Gigaset handsets are GAP-compatible, which means that they work with many DECT base stations and routers, including those from other manufacturers. A Gigaset IP Base is not required to use the handset.

The telephone has an analogue connection and is supplied with a telephone cable that typically has RJ11 plugs. This cable can be used for connection to the Sunrise Connect Box 3 Fibre, provided it also supports an RJ11 connection.

The phone cannot be connected directly to a router that does not support DECT. It requires either a DECT base station or a router with DECT support to be functional. If your router does not support DECT, you must use a separate DECT base station to operate the phone.

Hello Anonymous, if the message is dialled by telephone, you will only hear it on the telephone. The message remains on the answering machine, so it can also be played back from the main station afterwards. The spoken messages must be deleted manually from the station. The device can store a maximum of 30 minutes of messages.

How to switch from one handset to another

avatar
Galaxus

To switch from one handset to another on the Gigaset Comfort 500 A Trio, you can use the call transfer function. Here's how to do it: 1. Make sure all handsets are registered to the same base station. 2. During a call, press the transfer key (usually indicated in the manual). 3. Select the handset to which you want to transfer the call. 4. Confirm the transfer to transfer the call to the other handset. If you need more details, consult the user manual for specific instructions.

The phone is compatible with hearing aids thanks to its hearing aid compatibility function, which can be useful for people with impaired hearing. As far as sound settings are concerned, the phone offers high-definition audio quality, but I don't have any specific information about the possibility of completely deactivating the answering machine recording so that only an information message is played. It is possible to configure the answering machine to record messages, but I'm not sure whether it can be deactivated completely so that only an information message is played. I advise you to consult the user manual for more details on the options available.

The base station can be connected directly to the telephone socket, the second device has its own charging station and must first be registered via the base before it can be used without further connections. Cables are included in the packaging.

With the Gigaset Comfort 500A Duo, new missed calls are indeed indicated visually. The display and the flashing message key signal missed calls and provide convenient access to the message list. The LED flashing function can be switched on and off.

No, with the Gigaset Comfort 500 A Duo you cannot make calls to two different telephone numbers simultaneously with both handsets, as would be possible with an ISDN telephone. However, the device does support simultaneous calls, but only in the form that an external and an internal call (between two handsets) are possible at the same time, but not two external calls to different numbers.
