By any chance, has anyone tried astrophotography with this lens (in use with the EOS M50)? If so, would you recommend it for this? The pure technical data are already very optimistic about this...

Yes, it works! If you already have an Eos M, then it makes sense to start with. You can get a nice shot of the centre of the Milky Way with it.

The Canon EOS M50 has an EF-M mount. This lens is designed for EF-M and therefore fits. You can attach all EF-M lenses to the EOS M50. But make sure it's really EF-M, because there are also EF-S for SLR cameras with APS-C sensor and EF for full-frame cameras.
