Some Pro-Ject turntables can play 78 RPM shellac records. On the following pages, you will find information about which Pro-Ject turntables (both current and discontinued models) can also play 78 RPM shellac records. Some models do not require any additional accessories, while others do. Some cannot be used for 78 RPM records. Warning: The playback of 78 RPM shellac records should only be done with special 78 RPM styluses. Playing 78 RPM shellac records can damage or destroy standard cartridges designed for 33/45 RPM. The installation and removal of pulleys is straightforward.
