Mobotix MxSplitProtectHR DIN Rail Module

The MxSplitProtect installation box (Mx-A-SPA) is compatible with this DIN rail module (for 35 mm rail) featuring integrated 4kV surge protection (Type 2 P4) for connecting two IP cameras/PoE devices via a single Ethernet cable.

To connect two PoE-powered network devices (e.g., two Mobotix cameras) to MxSplitProtect using a single Ethernet cable with power supply, the MxSplitProtectHR DIN rail module is required, typically installed next to a PoE switch with PoE Mode A and two available ports. It transmits data and power from the two PoE ports (only four wires are used for this) to the eight wires of the installation cable, which are then split back to the two RJ45 ports of the MxSplitProtect installation box. MxSplitProtectHR offers the same split function and 4kV surge protection as MxSplitProtect but is not weatherproof. Additionally, an RJ45 socket is provided for connecting the Ethernet installation cable instead of an LSA terminal, as in the control cabinet, the wires of the installation cable are typically first connected to a patch panel, which is then linked to MxSplitProtectHR via a patch cable and RJ45 connector.

Note: To utilize the split and protect functions as described above in a protected indoor environment (0 to 40 °C) (e.g., an additional camera or an IR spotlight is to be installed on the ceiling of a warehouse, but only one Ethernet cable is run there), an alternative to the combination of MxSplitProtect & MxSplitProtectHR is to use a combination of 2x MxSplitProtectHR, possibly with additional protective measures (e.g., against dust, dirt, moisture in the room).
