The Kinman The Scoop Pickup Set belongs to the so-called Generation 2 series of non-aged sound pickups by Chris Kinman. Here, the pickups feature higher magnets and coils. Additionally, the often-overlooked slight loss of response and presence that occurs with closely spaced magnets (in the middle and neck positions) has been compensated for. It delivers the sound of mid-70s Strat® single coils with a noticeable reduction in low mids. The highs are fine, and overall, the tone is not harsh but pleasantly balanced.
