It works best when you stretch opposite rods one after the other. Soft, more contrasted light with harder shadows comes from the silver interior of the light modifier. Soft, diffused light is achieved with the two translucent diffusers, which are easy to attach to the softbox.

The inner diffuser further reduces the formation of a brighter light area in the center of the image. The outer diffuser creates an enlarged light surface and spreads the light further. Both diffusers also minimize the occurrence of disturbing reflections on shiny surfaces - a factor that is highly beneficial in portrait and product photography.
