The new XF wide-angle zoom delivers excellent, sharp images across the entire zoom range, in high-resolution from the center to the edges of the image. The XF8-16mm is ideal for landscape and architectural photography, restaurant and hotel interiors, night shots and astrophotography.

The FUJINON XF8-16mmF2.8 R LM WR can take full advantage of the performance of the FUJIFILM X-Trans CMOS sensor and achieves excellent sharpness even when the aperture is wide open.

The lens is light and yet very robust. It is resistant to dust, humidity and low temperatures down to minus 10 degrees Celsius. This makes it extremely reliable even under adverse external conditions.

To enable an ultra wide angle zoom of 8-16 mm (12-24 mm equivalent to KB) at a constant aperture of F2.8, 20 elements in 13 groups are used in this lens. This includes 4 aspherical lenses to control distortion and spherical aberration and three ED lenses and three Super ED lenses to reduce chromatic aberration. This design allows the lens to achieve excellent image resolution over the entire zoom range at a constant aperture of F2.8.

To correct an image field curvature typically found in ultra-wide angle lenses, the XF8-16mm has a correction element so that high sharpness is achieved over the entire image.

The back of the two front lens elements is coated with a Nano-GI coating to avoid ghosting and light reflections caused by oblique incident light.

The FUJINON XF8-16mm uses linear motors to provide fast autofocus. The motors also work very quietly.

The XF8-16mm is sealed at 11 points against splash water and dust. It is also cold-resistant up to a temperature of minus ten degrees. This means that it can also be used without problems in bad weather or difficult climatic conditions.

The fluoride coating on the front lens element is water-repellent, less susceptible to contamination and easy to clean.
