Light yet powerful. The Roto gearbox consists of a first planetary stage, followed by a second spur gear stage and a third stage with two roller cutters. In short, this results in sufficient extrusion force to fully utilize the maximum volumetric flow rates of our Revo High Flow nozzles while ensuring a favorable failure mode for motor stall (instead of filament grinding).
Maintenance-conscious. Special emphasis was placed on user-friendliness during the development of Roto. Accessing the roller cutters requires the removal of only three screws to take off the heatsink and filament path, while the extruder housing remains mounted in place. We have also revamped the filament tensioning system and developed a simple, bi-stable mechanism that either provides optimal tension or completely releases it, making filament loading and cold pulls easier. This means you can change the nozzle and release the filament with one hand.
Cool design. Roto features the first 3D-printed metal heatsink of its kind. SLM 3D printing allowed us unprecedented design freedom, meaning the design has been highly optimized beyond the obvious coolness factor of this technology. The heatsink prevents creeping heat by reducing thermal buildup through conduction and directing air through the air-break to interrupt the heat radiation from the hot side, resulting in the thermally most effective heatsink we have ever produced.
Standard or smart. The development of Roto does not stop at the basic performance features you are used to. Expand your arsenal with the sensor bundle to add filament monitoring, an action button, fan speed monitoring, and heatsink temperature monitoring. With all these enhancements.
