Product details
DJI has introduced the Zenmuse X5, a new camera/gimbal unit for its Inspire 1 quadcopter. The Zenmuse X5 does not have a fixed lens; instead, it features a Micro Four Thirds mount for interchangeable lenses. This provides users of the quadcopter, which is aimed at the professional market, with more imaging options compared to drones with built-in lenses.
Initially, the Zenmuse X5 is compatible with four interchangeable lenses: the DJI MFT 15mm 1/1.7 ASPH that comes standard with the camera, the Panasonic Lumix 15mm G Leica DG Summilux f/1.7 ASPH, the Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12mm f/2.0, and the Olympus M.Zuiko 17mm f/1.8. With all lenses, the pilot can adjust focus and aperture during flight, which significantly enhances professional shooting compared to traditional copter cameras that typically have a fixed focus. It captures lossless 4K raw videos in cinematic quality at 4096 x 2160 (24 fps) or 1920 x 1080 (60 fps) with an average bitrate of 1.7 Gbit/s (maximum 2.4 Gbit/s). It also features a removable 512 GB SSD drive and can take 16 MP photos with a dynamic range of 12.8 stops.
