The Fluke 820-2 LED Stroboscope is more than just a tool for non-contact RPM measurement on rotating machinery. It is also an excellent diagnostic tool for a variety of applications across numerous industries. As a measuring device from Fluke, it is robust and ergonomic. It allows for clear observation of machine movements; all cyclical motions can be visually slowed down or stopped to gain insight into performance, observe dynamic movements, measure speed, or capture actions in photos or videos.

The stroboscope can be used instead of a laser tachometer and requires a clear line of sight to the object being measured, which must be marked to serve as a reference point. Additionally, contact with the moving shaft, as required for using a contact tachometer, is not always feasible.
