The powerful Threadripper CPUs are the pinnacle of AMD's Ryzen processor series. They are aimed at professional content creators as well as enthusiasts and run on motherboards with AMD's X399 chipset. To extract maximum performance from the Ryzen CPUs, the processors with the X suffix are equipped with the new XFR feature. XFR means that these CPUs automatically allow overclocking beyond the regular boost clock. The maximum clock rate adjusts according to the cooling solution used, whether it be air, water, or liquid nitrogen. With the AMD Ryzen Master tool, you can easily overclock the CPU thanks to its unlocked multiplier. In AMD Ryzen Master, you can also keep track of the temperature and much more with ease.

The thermal design power (TDP), sometimes called thermal design point, refers to the maximum amount of power the cooling system in a computer is required to dissipate. For example, a laptop's CPU cooling system may be designed for a 20 watt TDP, which means that it can dissipate up to 20 watts of heat without exceeding the maximum junction temperature for the computer chip.
