What is it?
The Icicle PRO Hardtube fittings are a new development based on many years of experience in the field of water cooling. They represent the next evolutionary step of Alphacool Hardtube fittings. The development of these fittings focused on solving a specific problem. At temperatures close to 60°C, PETG hardtubes can deform, which especially affects the connections at the outlets of the CPU or graphics card water cooler.
With what kind of hardtubes can I use the Icicle PRO Hardtube fitting?
The Icicle PRO Hardtube fitting fits all hardtubes in the correct format. It can be used with PETG, acrylic, brass, and glass tubes.
What is the tensile strength of the fittings?
Compared to other fittings, the tensile strength is very high. In our tests, up to 8kg and more were not a problem. This means that you hardly have to worry about the slipping of a hardtube even with greater loads.
What distinguishes the new fittings from others?
The new fittings come with an inlay made of nylon, which stabilizes the hardtube and prevents it from deforming at high temperatures, potentially leading to system leakage. Furthermore, the fitting has an O-ring and a crush seal. Compared to a normal O-ring, the crush seal has a significantly larger contact surface, which naturally leads to a better hold. The inlay and crush seal are arranged in the fitting to build up high pressure on the hardtube through the interaction of inside and outside.
What do I have to pay attention to during assembly?
Basically, the assembly of the Eiszapfen PRO Hardtube fittings is very similar to other fittings. The new nylon inlay is inserted into the end of the hardtube. First, the union nut is pushed onto the hardtube, followed by the crimp seal. Then, the nylon inlay is placed on. Now, the fitting is screwed on normally. To make this even easier, there is a hexagon socket recess in the hole of the lower part of the fitting.
