Some products also have ATEX approval for use in hazardous areas. The CM-MSS thermistor motor protection relay is designed for heavy starting, increased switching frequency, high ambient temperature, insufficient cooling, interruption, and unbalance. The CM series of thermistor motor protection relays is used to control motors with PTC temperature sensors. The PTC temperature sensors are integrated into the motor windings and measure the heating of the motor. This allows direct control and evaluation of the following operating conditions.
