I think these new car care products are really good
There are a few of the new car care products that I really like. For example, because they make cleaning easier for me. They also take care of the atmosphere in the car interior. These gadgets make me happy.
I love my car. Not because it shines or makes an impression, but because it protects me. Thanks to this Family member with four wheels, I can get to the supermarket dry and warm, whatever the weather. That's why my car deserves the very best care, such as protection from the inevitable peep excrement. The same applies inside: biscuit crumbs and fingerprints are a horror for me.
Unfortunately, car care quickly becomes a science in itself. It puts my love to the test. The selection of super-duper speciality products regularly overwhelms me. At the SEMA 2025 car trade fair in Las Vegas, accessories were presented that simply make no sense to me. Keyword tyre shine.
That's why I'm not looking for the next miracle cure, but for products that take work off my hands, protect my car and make life in the interior more pleasant. Looking ahead to 2026 has motivated me to write down what I already use and which care products I will definitely be buying:
Display cleaner
Displays are as much a part of today's cars as the steering wheel. The problem: they only look good as long as nobody touches them. One trip with the family is enough and I've already got dirty hands on it.
I like to keep the topic simple. Instead of experimenting with the right amount of washing-up liquid, I use a special display cleaner. That way, I don't have to worry about what I'm leaving on the sensitive device.
Nigrin is a well-known manufacturer with decades of experience in the segment, good test results and positive customer reviews. I can emphasise this. I have had the best experiences with Nigrin.

Shampoo with sealant
I don't really like 2-in-1 products. Except for car shampoo. I make an exception here. If the car is not only clean after washing, but the paintwork also gets some protection, I'm happy to use it.
This is not a luxury, but pragmatic. Bird droppings are aggressive and quickly attack modern, water-based paintwork. A simple sealant when washing at least creates a solid foundation here.
Sonax has been consistently pursuing this approach for years. Watch the video to see in detail what the Bavarians are bringing to 2026.
This shampoo has been on the market for three years, but it's very good.
Headlight reconditioning without sanding
Look here: US supplier Meguiar's has developed a kit that can be used to recondition headlights that have become blind without any grinding. This is exactly the kind of product that catches my attention.
I have a soft spot for cars from the 90s. However, as we all know, their plastic headlights tend to go blind over the years. At the same time, I live in Germany, where grinding headlights is strictly prohibited.
Reconditioning without grinding is therefore not only convenient, but simply a very sensible solution.
Rupes Ibrid Nano
Disclaimer: If you have never polished your car with a machine before, you should ask a professional to show you how before you try it for the first time! Otherwise you may end up with ugly streaks.
If you're more into car care, you'll probably be familiar with the Ibrid Nano from the Italian company Rupes. I like it. The compact polishing machine has earned a good reputation because it is lightweight and can be optionally operated with a rechargeable battery.
This is a noticeable advantage, especially for precise work on small surfaces. With the second generation, Rupes is now going one step further: a magnetic fastener enables the polishing pads to be changed quickly without any tools. Cool thing. It's a small improvement, but it makes a big difference in everyday use.

Windscreen cleaner «Havana Love» from Sonax
I don't really need an interior fragrance or perfume to feel good in the car. I appreciate the typical new car smell, the scent of leather or the aroma of petrol and oil.
The windscreen cleaner «Havana Love» is an exception for me. It smells deliciously fruity and reminds me of my trip to Cuba. The scent easily permeates the interior when cleaning. I find that somehow appealing.
This is not a must, but a little gimmick that I treat myself to. Other fragrances inspired by Italy, Japan or Route 66 have already been announced. I'm curious.

Even as a small child, I knew that my neighbour drove a VW Golf GTD. My passion for cars, motorbikes and vans has been with me ever since. I worked as an automotive journalist for 15 years. I'm also interested in camping, workshops, gardening and DIY.
