Want to hang posters, photographs or postcards without drilling holes in your wall? Whether you live in a rented flat or simply want to remain flexible, this simple trick is quick and puts your pictures in the best light.

Most of the time I spend on TikTok feels completely wasted. But wait, I’ve just come across another ingenious interior hack: hanging pictures without any holes.

A video by TikTok user christina.mov reveals how she hangs up an illustration using magnets within seconds. I’ve tried this trick and think it’s great, especially for rented flats. Sticking pictures directly to your wall with double-sided adhesive tape alone sometimes won’t hold enough and offers no flexibility. This trick using magnets, on the other hand, works much better and for longer.

For this trick, you’ll need:

You may already have a lot of these at home.

Here’s how it works

  1. Cut out a piece of masking tape and attach a paper clip to it.
A clip is enough for small photos and postcards.

  1. Stick the masking tape with the paper clip to the wall.
Press it on firmly, and that’s it.

Tips for difficult walls

Larger or more paper clips and stronger magnets will work on woodchip wallpaper or uneven surfaces. For maximum adhesion and larger pictures, you can also use magnetic adhesive tape and dispense with the clip.

Enticingly beautiful: designs do more than just hold up your pictures

The best thing about this hack? You can swap and rearrange your artwork at any time. Try out different magnet designs to give your wall a unique look. Here, you’ll find a selection of beautiful models.
