I had the same question and got the v2 neither vroc works as desired nor does the fan work in any case buy gen 4. on the v2 vroc is recognised but it doesn't bring any performance. here you were inadvertently advised wrongly or they wanted to bring the v2 out of the shop on purpose.

So i got the gen 4 well i also bought it new but used but couldn't get it to run at all on my x570 board until now.
