Blackmagic DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder
Blackmagic DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder
Hello folks I bought the card because the original manufacturer and also here at the seller says that the card can record 4 HDMI signals simultaneously: ..with which you can simultaneously record four different HDMI sources in any combination .... This is not true, the programme that you have to download when installing the card: "Media Express" can only record one signal, after pressing the Record button the programme remains blocked until you press Stop and it only records one HDMI source. It also says that the card supports OBS, which is unfortunately only half the truth, when you start OBS and activate the inputs, all sources are blocked, you cannot make a live HD programme with OBS at the same time and record the sources with the card in 4k. Even if you record with Media Express, the cards in OBS remain black. This has now been confirmed by the Blackmagic forum. Now I would like to know what I misunderstood about the wording: "that you simultaneously record four different HDMI sources ..." misunderstood. Only a single source is recorded.... In addition, the manual describes how you can use the programme: "Blackmagic Desktop Video" to make settings on the inputs, which is also not true. This seems to be a "general" programme for all capture devices offered by BM and for my card, there are "zero" setting options :-( Does anyone know anything about this? I wanted to ask support, but I'm also at a loss: At the bottom of the homepage it says: "Returns, repairs and support" If you click on it, there's nothing about support, just "Returns" or "Defect". What does Digitec mean when it says "Suport"? Do you have any experience? Am I expecting too much?
Hello
All 4 input sources can technically be recorded with the card, that's true and I often do that. However, I don't employ MediaExpress and don't record there. With vMix, for example, this is very easy - if you have all 4 sources in vMix, you can record these 4 sources and also the live cut/live stream... With OBS this should also work, but I don't know if and how many sources you can record separately.
SO WITH VMIX WHAT YOU WANT TO DO WORKS ;)
