Good afternoon, after several months of not really satisfactory use, I finally noticed the problem. My lens has a focus error. I focus on the face with my Sony A7III (not manually) but the face is always visibly out of focus compared to the upper part of the body (T-shirt, jacket etc.). My question is can I have the lens replaced or do I have to have it repaired? How does that work? Thank you in advance for your help. LG

Late reply, but we had the same problem with this lens. Once with the Nikon version and once with the Canon mount. Seems to be a common problem with 35mm ART lenses.

Hello Husky434,
that would be the first time I've heard of focus errors with native Sigma lenses on Sony A7 cameras, but that doesn't mean it's not the case.
Have you ever tried to reduce the focus field? Are you using automatic face detection? Is Eye AF working properly? Do you focus and then pan the camera?
Remember, at aperture 1.4 the depth of field is already extremely small. And a small pan or an incorrectly set focus point is enough to ensure that what should be sharp is not sharp.
If you have tested the above points yourself and the problem still exists, then I would send the lens in. Whether it is then exchanged or repaired is at the discretion of the warranty provider in Switzerland.
